    Chimney Cleaning

There is no hard and fast rule about how often a chimney should be cleaned. It could be cleaned once a year or after 30 uses. All of it depends on how much creosote builds up in the chimney. You need a chimney contractor to clean the soot and dust out of the chimney and scrape the creosote off the inside walls. We use a Soot Sweeper chimney vacuum to get rid of dust, and while the chimney is being cleaned, we look for cracks and other problems. We clean the top, chimney, smoke shelf, smoke chamber, damper, and firebox area as part of our services. The brushes we use to clean are attached to fiberglass poles. Contact us if you want a job done in a systematic way. We know about building codes, are trained to tell the difference between deterioration and venting problems, and will give you a written report on the condition of your chimney.

    Chimney Caps

A chimney cap is more than just a cute way to make the chimney end or liner pipe look better. It is an important part of the chimney and flue that keeps them in good shape all year. A chimney cap can protect your chimney from damage caused by snow, rain, debris, or animals. Our guarantee lasts forever It is easy to put together and clean stainless steel. It can be hard to keep track of all the different chimney caps. We make it easy for you at Eagle Chimney Services because we have the best chimney caps. You can protect your chimney and make your house look better without burning a hole in your pocket.

    Chase Covers

Chase covers, also called “top pans,” are metal covers that go over the chimney chase to keep water from getting in. A chase cover should be put on correctly so that water doesn’t build up and cause rust, debris, or nests, and so that smoke and gas can flow freely. The best way to protect your chimney is with a stainless steel chase cover. We sell stainless steel chase covers that are affordable and last a long time.

    Waterproofing

The weather does a lot of damage to a chimney throughout the year. The most common cause of damage and deterioration is water getting into the chimney. Waterproofing a chimney is an easy way to make it last longer, maybe 8 to 10 years longer. Sealers can keep the water inside, which is bad for the bricks. Instead, we use water repellents that don’t trap the moisture and let the surface breathe. This keeps the water away.

    Masonry Chimney Reline

Masonry chimneys can be dangerous because of how they are built. People think that brick chimneys are better, but these flues are not safe to use, especially if they have a wood burner attached. There aren’t many masonry chimneys that were built to fit the gas flow, and larger flues reduce draft and make creosote buildup worse. In fact, many older chimneys do not have liners to protect them from the high temperatures that are created by a chimney fire. Relining a chimney is important for it to work well with wood, coal, and pellets. Relining a chimney is done to make sure the flue is the right size, to line the chimney so heat moves through it better, and to reline older chimneys made of brick.

    Oil/Gas Furnace Reline

The outside of many gas or oil furnace chimneys might look fine, but the inside could be a different story. The liner makes sure that carbon monoxide, water, creosote, and other things that can catch fire don’t get into your house through the bricks and mortar of the chimney. Carbon monoxide can build up in a chimney that isn’t lined. This might not kill you, but it can cause a number of health problems.

    Draft Problems

Chimneys are made so that the waste products of burning can go up the chimney instead of into the living room. The effect of smoke, gases, and other debris being pulled up is called the draft. If the byproducts of combustion don’t leave the house, they could build up and make the room unsafe. Problems with drafts could be caused by anything from human error to problems with the building. Our chimney experts have enough experience that they can fix any problem with drafts, offer smart solutions, and never suggest repairs that aren’t necessary.

    Dampers

A damper seals off the top of the chimney flue so that heat and air don’t escape. But the damper needs to be open when the fireplace is working. Because of this, it’s easy for air to get in, which makes the heat leave. We use a Lock-top-damper system that stops downdrafts, keeps water out, and stops pests from getting in. We can fix or replace chimney dampers at both the bottom and top of the chimney.

    Flashing

If the ceiling around your chimney is leaking, you need to fix your flashing. Flashing is a metal plate that covers the joint between the chimney and the roof. With this metal plate, water can’t get into the house. Over time, the metal plating can get damaged from being exposed to different elements. This can cause mold to grow, damage to the walls, and wood to rot. If you wait to fix these things, it could end up costing more than just flashing the chimney. If you see water leaking from your chimney, we put ice and water shield on the shingle underlayment and use step and counter flashing to stop the leak.

    Chimney Crown

One of the most common problems is that the top of the chimney is broken. We’ll fix or rebuild a concrete crown on your chimney if it’s broken, not built right, or the bricks are falling apart and letting water in. Our chimney crew will seal it with a flexible sealant. This will keep water, rain, and snow from getting into the chimney. The price is based on the size of the crown and how much it needs to be fixed or rebuilt.

    Chimney Rebuilding

When a chimney’s bricks start to fall apart or get damaged by the weather, it’s important to fix or rebuild the chimney. The chimney can be fixed by our skilled masons. For smaller chimneys, we use a precast concrete crown. For bigger chimneys, we use a concrete crown that is 4 inches thick and has drip edges that hang over by 2 inches. Before starting the job, our qualified technicians will find out what caused the damage and how bad it is. After the work is done, they will give tips on how to keep damage from happening again.
